“Rhythm of Flowers”

Art Show October 12 - November , 2023

The Sherman Library is  pleased to announce a new show “Rhythm of Flowers” photographs by Max England. As a hearing-impaired photographer, England’s world is one of visual rhythm and poetic movement. Through his lens, he has discovered a profound connection between the beauty of flowers and the artistry of dance. Each photograph he creates is a harmonious blend of these two passions, a symphony of color, form, and motion that transcends the limitations of sound.

England’s journey began with a fascination for the graceful gestures and expressive postures of dancers. He was captivated by the way their bodies communicate emotions and stories without the need for words. As he turned his lens towards flowers, he realized that they, too, possess an innate sense of movement and rhythm. The gentle sway of petals in the breeze, the upward stretch of a stem reaching for the sun – these were movements waiting to be captured, dances waiting to be told.

Through his photographs, he bridges the gap between the auditory and visual realms. Each image is a moment frozen in time, a choreography of color and form that invites viewers to feel the music in their hearts and see the dance in the world around them. By infusing flower photography with the spirit of movement, he has created an experience that transcends mere visual observation, allowing others to tap into the universal language of expression.

England has a Certificate of Fine Arts in Photography from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY and is proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator),  digital photography and studio lighting  and is skilled in portrait, landscape, nature, and event photography.  For more information, visit www.flower.photography
