“Great Hollow Art Show Invitational 2023”
Art Show September 6 - October 11, 2023
The Sherman Library is pleased to announce a group show featuring the artists from the sixth Annual Great Hollow Juried Painting and Photography Show 2023. The winners, honorable mentions, and committee members have been invited to participate and share their love of nature through their depictions of wildlife and the beauty of the seasons.
Whether it be painting, photography, glass or other forms of artistic expressions, there is amazing talent and a shared love of art in our community’s seniors. Some of our seniors have been creating for years, some have recently picked up a paint brush and taken a class. But all have the shared energy and desire to capture something special in a photo, to make paint come alive, to add color and shape to glass….to create.
The featured artists have deftly captured the fur on an approaching bobcat and little cute racoons, the feathers on a wood duck and a blue indogo bunting, and the deatils of a flower, the bark on a tree and a delicate spider web. They have also depicted beautiful woodland scenes, streams by mountains, autumn reflections and more. They remind us of the many faces of nature and how it offers us joy and beauty to nourish our souls.
The Sherman Library show will showcase these selected painters and photographers: Christy Bonaiuto, Bethe Bouges, John Charles, Phyllis Chadwick, John Cleary, Carolyn Cohen, Justin Goodhart, Amy Grinder, Linda Hubbard, Andy Kimmel, Lu Li, Susan Locke, Cathleen Nardo, Doreen O’Connor, Masumi O’Donnell, Mark Rosengarten, Gary Stanford, Stephen Seymour, Terry Tougas, Don Turner and Amy Zeilhofer.

The show will be on display at the Sherman Library from September 8 - October 11, 2023. There will be an artist reception on Friday, September 8, 2023 6:00–8:00 pm.
