Join Gerri Griswold, of White Memorial Conservation Center, for the first lecture of her four part lecture series on extinct animals.
The Dodo bird or Raphus Cucullatus was a flightless bird native to the island of Mauritius, near the island of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. Its closest relatives are pigeons and doves, even though dodo birds were much larger in size. Due to aggressive human population, Dodo birds became extinct in late 17th century. Learn more about this curious creature and its tragic demise during a one-hour program which focuses on the Dodo in nature, history, and art.
