Join the Sherman Library as Charley Gerard presents Big Band Music. The music from big bands came at a time when jazz was popular music, and popular music was jazz! The world obig bands was almost unique in the United States as an arena in which African AMericans and European Americans interacted on almost an equal footing.
Sherman resident Charley Gerard will guide attendees through the Big Band era using some great recordings. Gerard is a composer, saxophonist and author of numerous books on music.
